TRAFFIC SIGNALS HATE THE HEAT!!

Traffic signal controller cabinets are state certified to run between -30 to 140 degrees. Our signal maintenance contractor reports the cabinets in the City of Palm Springs are well over 180 degrees inside.  They have done what they can to increase the airflow inside the cabinet but it is only circulating the extremely hot air.  Until the heat wave subsides, expect more traffic signals to trip to four-way flash. Please report it to the City with this link and practice patience at intersections.
